The last time Adam Savage made an appearance on the Tactical Pants Blog, he was sporting a Kitanica jacket.

Now he’s back and so is the new season of Mythbusters. On tomorrow’s season premier, Savage and his cohort Jamie Hyneman take a look at crime-fighting canines. And no, we’re not talking about McGruff.

Many departments host dog squads, much like the Alameda County K-9 unit seen in these clips. But how clever are these four-legged friends really?

On the episode, the Mythbusters crew try to outmaneuver human-tracking dog. By using household chemicals and various other scents, the duo challenges the notion that a pup can truly track under any circumstance.

Which comes to the most important question of them all: Is Savage wearing tactical pants in this clip?

While the trousers appear to be just your everyday khaki pant, perhaps he is wearing Vertx tactical pants… What do you think?
